After re-watching the second test of the first class mage test, it gave me new appreciation of Methode and Lehrnen. Methode took down the Fern clone and Lehrnen injured Frieren when the Frieren clone couldn't cause any damage to Frieren in a battle of that magnitude. If I were the party, I might try to recruit Lehrnen to join.

And because it didn't know where the attack was coming from, it cast a 360-degree defense barrier. Later at 1:54, Frieren learned from her previous experience and focused her gaze on the clone, compelling the clone to look at the most immediate threat: Frieren's staff, which gave Fern the opening. This entire fight is just pure magic in visual storytelling.

Only reason this fight wasn't instantly over is because Denken is just lucky Frieren didn't open with a black hole >.<
